Are you Ready?? It's Almost Here!!

Somehow Christmas always sneaks up!! As there is always so much to do, take a little time each day to reflect, maybe by reading a few chapters, or pages, of your latest favorite book...i feel so much better when i only plan a few things to get done during the day...instead of exhausting myself and running around like a crazy person! sleepy cats make a person feel relaxed!.

Giving Thanks!

with thanksgiving right around the corner, and so much going on, i am taking time right at this moment, to express my thanks to my family and friends...with my brother going through such a bad illness, the well wishes and prayers have meant so much....thanks to everyone! doing art has been such a blessing and also watching nature from my kitchen window...the simple joys in life are the best!! love to all!!

Prims Magazine!

the new issue of prims magazine is such a feast for the eyes!! i was inspired to make my little poppet lady who is a peddler of paper dolls!! i used images from paper whimsys, which has the most lovely little gothic style girls....it is raining today, time to sew and sew and create and create....the cats are settled in, lee is on a trip...enjoy today, and thanks for stopping in.....

ever since i was little, i have loved paperdolls....now there are so many choices to use them in altered art....with computer designers making clip art, every day is christmas...i love to get an image, cut it out and embellish it......so relaxing!

Nellie Olsen Dresses....

why is it that the china porcelain dolls always have horrible prairie nellie olsen dresses? most of the time they look like they were haphazzardly thrown on to them! anyway, when i adopt these dolls for a make over...the first thing that goes is the dress and the ugly pantaloons....and then the curly hair...oh and then the eyelashes........soooo here is a girl i am working on for halloween.......enjoy!

my latest musing is the creation of altered art dolls.....i love to buy dolls at the thrift store that no one wants... and then alter them to my liking.....with halloween around the corner, i madeover a doll for a swap....the original doll had long curly hair which i promptly cut, i painted her lips black and glazed her face...with a new witch hat, dress and banner, she has a new life!!
